     A  reference sheet showing the musical elements used in each level is included so that you can select the exercises to meet student needs and audition requirements. For example,  Level 1A includes large print, single staff examples in C and G Major 5-finger patterns, quarter and half notes, seconds and thirds with key signatures 2/4, ¾, and 4/4.  Level 8 has progressed to cover two hands, singles notes, intervals 2-8 and triads,  a range of an octave, any Major or Minor key signature, rhythms from whole note/rest through sixteenth and dotted eighth, X/4 and 6/8 time signatures.

     In addition to use for sight-reading practice, the exercises can be used for transposition and even harmonization.  The leveling parallels the Michigan Music Teachers Association Syllabus, but is of course applicable to any course of study.
